Journal: Goals for Figure Drawing

This sort of class is something I have been hopeful for ever since I became comfortable enough with drawing the human figure to want to give them more dynamic and realistic poses, and a sense of movement. Although we have only been having this class for 3 weeks so far, I can already tell it is helping me. I understand better how the human body curves, what looks more like a natural position compared to one where the body might have looked a bit bent or broken out of place, and the placement and bends in limbs. I had done prior research and tried to teach myself about the human figure about this class, but was never truly dedicated enough, yet there are some things we are covering in this class I already had a feel for or understood. One of my biggest goals in this class is to understand and draw dynamic and interesting poses, and better my knowledge of muscles or limb shapes in the human body.
