Watercolor Self Portrait

Overall I feel as if this is a pretty solid work, but upon looking back at it there are some areas it could use improvement. The primary issue noticed in this piece is how the watercolors on the shoulder cover blends in too much with the background, and the boldness of my sketch lines. I’m proud of the depth and shape created by the layering of watercolors on the face however, as it is gives the face roundness and helps defines certain areas of the image. You can also tell where the light source was coming from, and how it hit my face in the image. In the image used my eyes are engaging the camera, which helps give the photo a intense and almost intimate feeling.
